Metal Mania ~ I think you would agree, is a hot home decor trend that hasn’t died down. From gold, to silver, to chrome, to copper, it brings just the right touch of glamour and sophistication to a space whether it adorns a vase, a decantur, a bowl or an accent table. SINGING THE BLUES

I’m Singing The Blues, not in a sad way, but in an inspiring way. Blue is HOT, HOT, HOT, right now…..in Home Decor and Fashion. I wouldn’t say it is a trendy color, but a classic color that works wonderfully with so many other colors. I love it with Emerald GreenBright Orange. Shocking Pink, Bright Yellow, and Black, to name just a few. Of course, the color Blue, along with Red and White is particularly symbolic this time of year with the 4th of July happening in just a matter of days. Wow, it’s so hard to believe how fast this year is flying by. Nevertheless, I love the color blue no matter what the occasion and thought it would be fun to share some of my blue home decor, fashion and art that I find inspiring which I have curated from Polyvore. Enjoy my Rhapsody In Blue……

COLOR CRUSH ~~ BLUSH

Blush~~~

This pretty, whisper soft shade of pink can be found in many variations, from the dew-kissed petals of a pale pink peony to the almost iridescent shades on a seashell. It is a fresh, innocent color that is pretty without being too cutesy and it is an unexpected neutral that I am definitely crushing on.

TOP ONLINE SHOPS ~ ZARA HOME~PART 1

Zara Home

While I was looking for some top online shops, I stumbled upon ZaraHome. I have always enjoyed this store for its European influenced style in fashion and, they also have a “Home” department, which I didn’t even realize. Like their chic and stylish fashion styles, their home line follows in that same vein, which, of course, is all priced affordably. Love it when you get chic style that fits within a budget. Here are just a few items that caught my eye.

These are just a few of my picks. If you wish to see more, be sure to visit Architectural Digest. I hope you have a very lovely weekend, doing whatever, shopping, relaxing, catching up on some reading or just chilling. Out my way, it is the ANNUAL SWALLOW’S DAY PARADE. San Juan Capistrano is the host of this BIG EVENT and this is the 57th year celebrating the return of the swallows to Mission San Juan Capistrano. The day kicks off at 6 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Women’s Club of San Juan Capistrano. At 10:00 a.m., the pre-parade festivities start and at 11:00 a.m., the parade kicks off. We have many fond memories of this event, as my hubby was a very active participant with all three of my now grown children, marching in the parade with the Y-Princess and Y-Guide Program (a program affiliated  with the YMCA, that provides many wonderful Father/Daughter and Father/Son activities). This isn’t the only BIG EVENT on the calendar though………even BIGGER, is my grandson’s 2nd birthday party. He will be starting his celebration at the local petting zoo…..and this is another memorable place for our family in San Juan Capistrano. This petting zoo, was once known as the Jones Family Petting Farm and each of my children grew up experiencing this wonderful place, from guided pony rides, to birthday events. Now, the original family has retired and since sold the petting zoo to a wonderful woman who has taken it beyond what it was 20+ years ago. Today, it is known as Zoomar’s Petting Zoo. It still has all the fabulous memories of so many years ago, with the “horsey-rides”, the goats, the sheep, the Emu’s, the corral with all the “little critters” (guinea pigs, bunnies and such) that we happily feed with the “purchased food” (it is a business after all). But, now, there is a choo-choo train to ride on, a “gold-mining” adventure, a corn-filled play-pen for kids to jump in to their hearts’ delight. Needless to say, it has definitely evolved from where it was when we took my Lindsay, Neal and Melissa there. Now, my Lindsay is a momma and we are coming full circle with my grandson, Jackson. It is such fun to see him enjoy some of the same places that his “momma” grew up with. We’ll be hangin’ at the Grandparents’ house (mu-wah) afterwards, grillin’ and chillin’ with family, friends and our very adorable grandson!

Happy Weekend

MOODBOARD MONDAY ~~ #5

I have a very discerning, highly opinionated, artistic (in the musical sense), young adult male client, who has been longing for a room makeover. That discerning client also happens to be my son. So after much discussion about likes and dislikes, I’ve finally come up with a design that meets his approval. Yay!!!!!
